Who we are

First Break is a job board operated by Breaking & Entering Media. It lists internships and entry-level roles in advertising, marketing, PR and social media.

What we collect

Job seekers. Nothing, unless you sign up for job alerts. If you do, we store your email address and the filters you chose, plus the dates you confirmed and last received an alert. We do not host applications, so we never see your résumé — applying takes you to the employer’s own site.

Employers. When you submit a listing we store your name, email address, job title if you give one, your company details, and the listing itself. We use this to review the listing, contact you about it, and send you the renewal and expiry reminders.

How we use it

To run the board: reviewing and publishing listings, sending lifecycle emails to employers, and sending the daily alert digest to people who asked for it. We do not sell your data and we do not share it with advertisers.

Email

Alerts are double opt-in: you only start receiving them after clicking the confirmation link. Every alert email carries an unsubscribe link, and you can change your filters or stop alerts at any time from the link in any alert email. Employer lifecycle emails are transactional and are only sent about a listing you submitted.

Keeping and deleting data

Listings stay in our records after they expire or close so we have a history of what ran on the board, but they are no longer public. Alert subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. To have your data removed, email geno@breakenterpod.com and we’ll take care of it.
